As a new type of pipe, PP-R pipe has the following performance characteristics:

1) Energy-saving PP-R pipe production energy consumption is only 20% of steel pipe, and its thermal conductivity [0．2W/(mK)] is only 1/200 of steel pipe. Application in hot water system will greatly reduce heat loss.

2) Corrosion-resistant, non-scaling, hygienic, non-toxic use of PP-R pipe can avoid the "secondary pollution" of water quality caused by scaling and rusting of the inner wall caused by the use of galvanized steel pipe. Because the PP-R component is simple and the basic components are carbon and hydrogen, it conforms to food hygiene regulations, is non-toxic, and is more suitable for drinking water transportation.

3) The long-term use temperature of PP-R pipe is 95℃, and the short-term use temperature can reach 120℃. Under the conditions of using temperature of 70℃ and working pressure of 1.2MPa, long-term continuous use can reach more than long-term durability according to standards of life.

4) Lightweight, high-strength, low fluid resistance, the density of PP-R pipe is only 1/8 of that of metal pipe, the pressure test strength is as high as 5MPa, and it has good toughness and impact resistance. Because the inner wall is smooth, does not rust, does not scale, and the fluid resistance is small. The main technical indicators of PP-R pipe are as follows: Density 0.9g/cm3 Elastic modulus (20℃) 800MPa Thermal expansion coefficient 1.8×10-4/K Thermal conductivity 0.2W/(mK) Longitudinal shrinkage rate 2% Impact Test damage rate ≤10% Hydraulic test short-term 1h, ring stress 16MPa without leakage, long-term 95℃, 1000h, ring stress 3.5MPa.
