Manual Observation Method:
After closing the valve, watch for fluid leakage or accumulation around the valve. When the ball valve is closed, there should be no liquid leakage around it.
Use a copper listening rod or other listening device, placed in the valve position, and carefully listen for any leakage sounds.
Indicator Inspection Method:
Observe the indicator position of the brass ball valve. Under normal circumstances, the indicator should point to the position where the valve is closed. If the indicator deviates from the closed position, it may indicate an internal leak in the valve.
Soap Bubble Method (For Gas Leaks) :
Fill the valve with a certain pressure indicating the leakage of gas (such as air).
Apply the soap solution to the suspected leak and see if soap bubbles form. The bubbling is where the leak exists.
Ultrasonic Leak Detection Method:
The needle probe sensor using the ultrasonic leak detector contacts the valve at one time upstream pipe diameter and one time downstream pipe diameter.
If the valve leaks inside, an ultrasonic signal is detected at both locations. By comparing the signal strength, you can determine whether the valve is leaking.
Temperature And Color Judgment:
By feeling the temperature and color of the leaking liquid, you can also help determine the severity of the problem. However, this method is rough and only serves as an auxiliary judgment.
Professional Testing Equipment:
In cases where it is difficult to determine, electronic devices such as pressure detectors can be used to detect leaks at the bottom of the ball valve and in the loading area. This method is more accurate, but requires specialized equipment.
During the detection, one or more methods can be selected according to the actual situation to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the detection. At the same time, ensure that the relevant safety regulations are followed during the testing process to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
