How to prevent water pipes from freezing

A: The rupture of PP-R pipe is not necessarily related to its quality. By understanding the physical properties of PP-R itself, it can be known that the properties of the PP-R material itself will change with the change of temperature. When the temperature becomes lower, the flexibility of the pipeline also decreases, showing the "low temperature brittleness" of PP-R. When there is an unbearable external force or external action, the pipe may break. On the contrary, those so-called "indestructible water pipes" are likely to be inferior water pipes with impurities added.
Q: So, what about the "low temperature brittleness" of PP-R materials?
A: PP-R is random copolymer polypropylene, which is what we call type III polypropylene. It is obtained by random copolymerization of propylene monomer and a small amount of ethylene monomer under the action of heat, pressure and catalyst. Ethylene monomer is randomly distributed into the long chain of propylene, wherein ethylene monomer is generally controlled between 3-5%. The ethylene content and the polymerization method of ethylene and propylene determine its cold brittleness. In the case of low temperature, especially in the construction process in winter, the flexibility of the pipe is reduced at low temperature, the rigidity is enhanced, and it is brittle.
How can we prevent the characteristics of PPR pipes under low temperature brittleness?
1: When handling the PPR pipe, it is strictly forbidden to throw, roll, and drag the pipe, and ensure the smooth movement of the pipe.
2: When stored in warehouses, simple sheds and construction sites, the stacking height should not exceed 1.5 meters.
3: During construction, it should be done:
①It should be protected during handling and construction to avoid mechanical damage caused by improper external force. The location of the pipeline should be marked after the dark application, so as to avoid damage to the pipeline due to the second decoration.
②Be careful in winter construction, and use a sharp knife to cut slowly when cutting the pipe. Do not press or knock the installed pipeline, and cover the parts susceptible to external force with protective materials if necessary.
③ Before the pipe is cut, if any pipe with stress whitening caused by external force is found, the pipe cannot be used.
④Before hot-melt connection of pipes, carefully check whether the pipes are damaged. Especially the inner wall, because when the pipe is subjected to external force, the inner wall breaks first, and then goes out. Avoid using pipes with broken inner walls but not broken outer pipes.
