Common Drinking Water Pipes
Dec 09, 2022

The following are several common drinking water pipes in the home:
copper pipe
Copper pipes are not easy to rust, but after long-term use, it will inevitably rust and produce patina. At the same time, the copper ion content in the water will increase to a very appreciable level. The increased copper ions can indeed kill bacteria, but the harm to the human body cannot be underestimated.
stainless steel pipe
It is not easy to rust, but the construction is difficult and expensive, and it is rarely used in ordinary civil buildings.
polypropylene tube
One of these materials is only a few decades old, but its use in potable water piping is already fairly common. In addition to safety issues, household water pipes that are generally recommended or mandatory in newly built communities are also easy to process because of their hot-melt properties.
PP pipe has the characteristics of corrosion resistance, no scaling, and long service life. Because of its smooth inner wall, low surface frictional resistance coefficient and strong water permeability, it also reduces the possibility of scale in the pipeline, and there is no ion pollution problem.
Polypropylene pipes that meet the standards are green products and are harmless to the human body, that is, the water quality will not deteriorate again due to flowing through plastic pipes.
PPR tube
For polypropylene pipes, people are familiar with PP-R pipes.
PP-R pipe is a kind of pure drinking water pipe, which can be used as cold water pipe or hot water pipe. The raw material molecules of PP-R are only carbon and hydrogen, and there are no harmful and toxic elements. The joints are connected by hot melt, which avoids the toxicity of glue joints.
