The difference between PVC, UPVC and CPVC materials

What is the difference between PVC, UPVC and CPVC products? Are UPVC/CPVC both PVC?
To distinguish the different points of these kinds of materials, we must first find out what materials they are.
1. PVC
PVC is polymerized from vinyl chloride monomer (VCM). PVC material has the characteristics of non-toxic, anti-aging and acid and alkali resistance, so it is very suitable for the use of chemical pipelines. PVC (PolyVinylChloride) generally has 7 grades (SG1-SG7) according to the hardness and performance of the material, and the density is about 1.4g/cm. The products below SG4 are generally soft products, and a large amount of plasticizer needs to be added during molding. They are mainly used to make artificial leather, wire and cable insulation layers, seals, etc. SG5 and above are hard products, mainly used to make various pipes, such as drainage, electrician, post and telecommunication pipes and pipe fittings, various plates, sheets, profiles, etc.
PVC molding shrinkage rate is 0.6-1.5%, with good mechanical properties, excellent electrical properties, self-extinguishing, strong acid and alkali resistance, good chemical stability, low price, is a very widely used General purpose plastic. However, due to its low operating temperature, the highest is around 80 °C, which hinders its development.
2. CPVC
CPVC is a polymer material modified by chlorination of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). After the PVC resin is chlorinated, the chlorine content is increased from 56.7% to 63-69%, which increases the chemical stability and improves the material. The heat resistance, acid, alkali, salt, oxidant and other corrosion.
3. UPVC
The mixture composed of PVC raw materials and a certain amount of solid additives (without plasticizers) is called rigid polyvinyl chloride (referred to as UPVC).
