Suggestions on the selection of domestic water pipes
Dec 28, 2022

1. Regarding wall thickness
Taking PPR water pipes as an example, PPR water pipes can be divided into two types: cold water pipes and hot water pipes. Cold water pipes have thinner walls, while hot water pipes have thicker walls and stronger pressure bearing capacity. Both can be used when economic conditions permit. Hot water pipes instead of cold water pipes.
2. Hot and cold water pipes cannot be mixed
Cold water pipes and hot water pipes have different marks, which are usually marked with words or colors. When installing water pipes, the installation work should be carried out strictly according to the cold water pipes connected to the cold water pipes, and the hot water pipes connected to the hot water pipes. Because the wall thicknesses of the two water pipes are different, they must not be mixed together. If the connection is not firm during the butt joint, water leakage will easily occur.
3. Be sure to test the pressure after installing the water pipe
The water pipe is a concealed project. If there is a water leak, the later maintenance will be very troublesome. Therefore, the pressure test must be carried out after the water pipe is installed, which can greatly reduce the risk of water leakage.
