Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) pipe is a plastic material used in water supply piping systems. This type of pipe has several advantages over PP-R pipe, PVC pipe and galvanized steel pipe. Compared to rigid pipes, PEX is flexible and easy to install, with high heat resistance and long-term durability. PEXs range in diameter from 32 to 315. The most common sizes for water supply pipes are 6, 8, and 1 inch.
